Just Sing It! School Show Program

TheInternational Touring Choir will present two days of Just Sing It Schools shows on Wednesday December 2, 2009, and Monday April 19, 2010. If you would like to have the Choir at your school, please contact our office 1-888-909-8282.

Our Choir’s goal is to keep kids singing in local schools. The British Columbia Boys Choir has been presenting concerts in schools in British Columbia and beyond for the past decade through their Just Sing it! School Shows. The International Touring Choir present 45 minute shows that introduce students to the boys treble voice and the male voice when it changes. The Choir performs a variety of music from around the globe. The BC Boys Choir performs in schools with great music programs to encourage students to continue to sing and also in schools where the music teacher and administration is trying to grow their Choir program.

The Choir charges a fee to come and perform that assists with covering the costs associated with the performance.

The British Columbia Boys Choir celebrated 40 years of teaching boys to sing 2008. As part of the Anniversary celebrations the BC Boys Choir launched SongWave Boys Honour Choir. Over the past three years, under the direction of Artistic Director Tony Araujo and Associate Conductor Edette Gagne - over 200 boys from 90 schools and 10 Greater Vancouver communities and Vancouver Island have participated in SongWave Boys Honour Choir Programs. Boys come and sing for six weeks with the BC Boiys Choir and at the end present concerts. It is an oppotunity for boys that love to sing to perform with other boys whose passion is singing! SongWave 2010 Boys Honour Choirs will rtake place in Burnaby, Vancouver, Nanaimo and North Vancouver.

 SongWave 2009 Boys Honour Choir
In April 2009, the SongWave 2009 Boys Honour Choir took place in New Westminster and was made up of boys from New Westminster, Surrey, Burnaby and Coquitlam. The SongWave 2009 Choir performed at the Surrey Children’s Festival in May 2009 and presented four performances in schools in Burnaby, New Westminster and Surrey. In addition, the boys gave a public concert in New Westminster.
